Research: Visits

I recently visited a variety of art and museum spaces on my trip to LA and New York, as I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to be a bit of research from two of the most exciting and modern cities in the well (which works perfectly with my modern, techy theme).

Interestingly, the places that I found the most inspiration were actually the museums/science centres more than the galleries and art spaces, in particular La Brea Tar Pits and the Griffith Observatory. The Observatory in particular had really successfully hit the marriage of fun and education that I want my space to communicate!

Below are a few photos (and a video) I took of spaces that I was inspired by during my trip...

(this was just in a Disney Store in NYC, I just thought it was really cool hahahah)

(the simplicity of this display in the Griffith Observatory really works in it's favor and I love the use of the tiny digital screen!)

(this wall of skulls in La Brea Museum is something I found particularly inspiring - I love the uniformity of it all, and the eerie feeling giving from the orange light wash over)
